Weekend music playlist featuring The Boss, Tom Waits, and Iggy Pop, but mostly punk rock because I’m a punk rocker, yes I am

You can hear it, too, if you’re sincere

Before work kicked off this morning, I created a music playlist for the day. To be honest with you, I don’t know what I was thinking when I picked out these songs. I guess I was hyped up because it’s Friday and my birthday’s this weekend. Plus, I took off Monday from work, so I can walk 5-6 miles up hills and through woods as a present to myself.1

One problem with my music selections for the day: I can’t think to write (and my job is to write) when lyrics are going. So, instead of rocking out with my sock out to the playlist below, I listened to ambient soundscapes. I could’ve rolled with instrumental Sonic Youth or Explosions in the Sky, but I didn’t. Which means my Friday music playlist is now my weekend music playlist.

As an aside, one of the bands on this list (Halibut Head) reached out to me recently. They caught wind of a blog post I wrote about them and asked if I’d be interested in reviewing their upcoming EP before it releases. I get first dibs, b!tches. Anyway, check out Halibut Head on your preferred streaming platform of choice.

Footnotes

  1. In the past, I’ve run 12-14 miles on my birthday. But apparently age has caught up because I’m unable to run right now. Both of my feet are F’d at the moment. So a walk it is. I’ll probably end up walking eight miles instead of five because I don’t comprehend moderation. ↩︎
