Oldie but Goodie: Thanksgiving Special

A few days ago I received a Google Alert which stated one of my blog posts was getting over 1000% its usual traffic — the post: Mikey the Ninja Turkey: A Thanksgiving Tale As Told by My Five Year Old Son.

Considering this post was published in 2018, and because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, I thought I’d point my readers to the link. Otherwise, it’s buried in the archive with hundreds of other posts. It’s funny to look back on. Had I not captured this memory by writing about it at the time, I’m sure it would have been lost for eternity; therein lies the beauty of keeping a blog at my ripe old age.

Because I wrote it down, I remember this day like it was yesterday. Granted, I don’t recall the audio clip I recorded which is funny in its own right. You can hear my daughter in her room in the background and my son. My son Henry was five at the time of this class assignment. He had to write a short story about a turkey that escapes and color in a corresponding image of a turkey cut-out (pun intended). Thus, Mikey the Ninja Turkey was born. You can check it out at this link.
