When I weighed forty pounds more than I do now, I decided to make a positive change in my life. I chose to run every day. Every day for thirty straight days. Rain or shine. Gentle breeze or near cyclonic winds. No excuses.
After thirty straight days, I could take a single day off. Just one. Not two. Not three. One. Otherwise, I would run the risk of voiding the healthy new habit I had formed over the prior thirty days. As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to learn this about myself.
Just as I once did with running, I’m now going to do the same with blogging. Writing used to be on autopilot for me, day in and day out. Somewhere along the way that changed. I blame my kids mostly. And, the whole having a full-time job thing we have to do to be productive members of society and blah blah blah.
I don’t expect you to read every blog post. But over the course of thirty days maybe just maybe you’ll find a few flakes caught in the wires of your sieve.
Is there something in your life you want to do that you once did? Is there something new you want to start? It could be a hobby or a habit change. It may even be eating salad or drinking more water. Day one can be today or it can be tomorrow. Just don’t make it the day after.
