The Lady Next Door, Now on Kindle

The Lady Next Door: A Short Story by Jeffrey Pillow is now available for download on Amazon’s Kindle e-reader for just 99 cents.

Back at the start of October I made a declaration. That declaration has now beared fruit. I am happy to announce that The Lady Next Door is now available for download on Amazon’s Kindle. (Please excuse the book cover. While I know some books are judged by their cover, this cover is only temporary.)

Description: They were just ordinary rocks found in a driveway to most people but not to the lady next door. They were the most beautiful rocks you would ever see.

My original intent was to have the story live on Amazon before October closed. Unfortunately, the Pillow household was fortunate enough to experience The Great Stomach Bug of 2013. On Friday, October 25, Henry started throwing up. Saturday was Annabelle’s turn. Sunday had my wife Allison on her hands and knees puking up her guts. And Monday it was my turn. We actually didn’t rid our house of it until Halloween on Thursday because the night before my daughter started throwing up again, with diarrhea to top it off. To say I was a bit pre-occupied with Clorox wipes and Lysol would be an understatement.

I know what some of you loyal readers of this blog out there may be thinking: I’ve already read this story. That is true. However, one of my decisions when I made my declaration was simply this: to find an avenue for all of the stories within me. The Lady Next Door fits that bill. It is my first story and it is my favorite story. While it is classified on Amazon as fiction, it isn’t. It’s nonfiction. Problem is, there is not exactly a market for nonfiction short stories.

This is just the start. My goal is to put out a new short story every month for the next 12 months. Some will be free while others $0.99. I hope you read my stories, and if you do — thank you.

I am speaking strictly from my own reading experience on Kindle, but I am more likely to try out a book if I see it has at least a few reviews under its belt.

Thank you for reading!
